Going Offline
April and May have definitely become my favourite months and that's mainly due to all the bank holidays. The problem is I could get used to working four day weeks permanently. Still the weather in the UK has given us something to smile about lately and has also given me the chance to go 'offline'.
Yesterday I took a trip to Camden Market. I hadn't been in years but rather than a pleasant mooch through the stalls it was more of a jostle through crowds of tourists gawping at the street food. I had to get out quick so took a walk passed the lock along the canal. It was a haven of calm in the hubbub of bustling Camden.
So nice in fact I just kept walking, envying the lifestyle of the canal boats gracefully floating by. Some of them taking the opportunity for a pit stop to sell their frozen delights.
As I left the crowds behind the scenery transported me to what could have been by gone England and I had to remind myself I was in the nations capital.
I'm much more at home in the tranquil country than I am in the City but every now and then it's nice to have a wander and get lost. You never know where it may take you.
