Florida Diary - Part 5 The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

I have been to the Harry Potter WB Studio Tour in Leavesden but I knew the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando would be good.   The US just knows how to do a theme park exceptionally well.  As you enter Diagon Alley you are met with an amazing sight.  All of the quirky wizarding shops are there and there's even advertising signs and graffiti.  

Knockturn alley is also situated off of it and has some dark magic surprises. Weasleys Wizard Wheezes has all the gimmicks and jokes from the movie and I'm not ashamed to say I purposely sought out U-no-poo the constipation sensation!  

To fully appreciate it you do have to take your time as there are so many details to see.  Although surprisingly the toilets didn't have a "This was to the Ministry" sign.  I'd like to think people wouldn't  be stupid enough to actually stand in the toilet to see if it worked!  Guess you cant be too sure though....

You could buy your own wand in Ollivanders but I would also recommend if you have young Harry Potter fans to rent an interactive wand.  Young wizards and witches can then go around and at certain places in the park cast spells to make things happen!  

When the dragon starts to grumble you will want to stick around!

Gringotts is the entrance to Escape from Gringotts ride.  This is a 3D and coaster ride and is great fun (if not a little short).  The beautiful bank is full of goblins and provides a nice cool break from the Florida sun.  They also have other Harry Potter props seen in the movie.

 We stopped in The Leaky Cauldron for refreshments.  Unfortunately the food was a bit bland but the butterbeer was delicious.

The Hogswarts express will take you to Hogsmeade and Hogswarts (which are situated in Island of Adventure)  as you sit in the carriage you can watch the countryside and even eavesdrop on Harry and pals talking in the corridor. If you get the train back again you will see different things too!
